Necks in a kind of Blueish clay what it was
I can say but I know it stuck like glue & when
we had finished we looked a lot of navies after
laying a Len Kuile drain pipe. There was a deal
more clay on the men than on the ground
after we had finished this it was impossible to give
us anything else to do as we were in such a mess
that we were glad to have a good bathe & a feed.
Thurs Mar 18 1915
To day before Breakfast we had the usual
aeroplane Formation Drill & then Breakfast at
9-o-clock. After Breakfast we had nothing to
do for the rest of the day as we were booked
for night opperations. I must say a few words
about these as I think they were the most
exciting performance. I have ever been in. In the
first Place we were devided out into companys
2 company’s being on the attack & 4 company’s
being on the Defence. The attacking companys
(C & G) were then marched about 2 miles
on the other side of the River. The Main Idea
