In commemoration of 100 years since the end of the World War One, an online competitive Transcribathon will be held from 1^st October to 11^th November 2018. The six-week long transcription marathon, the Centenary Run, will showcase stories from around the time of the armistice, alongside some of our longer and more difficult documents to keep you occupied for the duration of the run. Join us to keep the personal memories of the First World War, from beginning to end, alive one hundred years later.

Everyone who transcribes and annotates online during the Centenary Run automatically takes part in the competition and will be in the running to be crowned the Centenary Champions and win fantastic prizes. The overall winner will win a trip to Brussels to compete at the Europeana 1914-1918 Centenary Tour Finale Transcribathon on 27-28 November 2018. Form teams or transcribe individually to join this spectacular online marathon!

The competition takes place as part of the Europeana 1914-1918 Centenary Tour 2018, a year-long campaign for public engagement in the commemoration of the First World War. The campaign is organised by Europeana, Facts & Files and partners from all across Europe.
