On there stomachs but everybody must
keep perfectly quite as the least sound might
give the position away. We finished this
carry on & marched back to Camp which we
reached about Midnight & then managed to
get to bed about 1-o-clock as usual Tired
out.
Tues Mar 16 1915
To Day as usual we arose at 5-30 A.M. and
had the usual Battalion Drill before Breakfast
this Time in Stead of Artillery formation we had
aeroplane Formation. That is we are Marching
along & at the order aeroplane we have to scatter
in all directions & then lie Flat on our Stomachs
which is no nice job if you happen to be near a
bed of nettles at the time. After Breakfast we
were supposed to take a line of trenches at the
point of the Bayonet you set out for these
trenches which are about 3 miles away when
about 1 mile away you have to lie flat &
then at the word rush you rush about 100 yards
