About 1 hour at it when our poor hands
were covered with Blisters & when the
time came to finish we were not sorry
as we were about done up. About 7 o-clock
at night we heard that some intelligent
person had lost a pick & all the company
had to turn out to find it after about
an hours search we managed to find it buried
underneath some earth. I myself had the
honour of being about ½ mile away when it
was found. To night also Joe Routeledge
managed to lose a Bolt of his rifle a
very serious crime in the army & the
excitement was very great for about 2
hours when it was found. Some joke
loving person had hid it in his blankets
so that was another piece of excitement
to put down to Maymyo.
