About 1 hour at it when our poor hands

were covered with Blisters & when the

time came to finish we were not sorry

as we were about done up. About 7 o-clock

at night we heard that some intelligent

person had lost a pick & all the company

had to turn out to find it after about

an hours search we managed to find it buried

underneath some earth. I myself had the

honour of being about ½ mile away when it

was found. To night also Joe Routeledge

managed to lose a Bolt of his rifle a

very serious crime in the army & the

excitement was very great for about 2

hours when it was found. Some joke

loving person had hid it in his blankets

so that was another piece of excitement

to put down to Maymyo.

Thurs Jan 21 1915

To day we had another shooting

contest but this time C Company
