  Only managed to come in third to day’s

  contest was at 500 yards range at Army

  service targets. An Army Service Target is painted

  A pale green with just the Head & soldiers

  Of a man in Kahki on it & this at 500

  Yards takes a lot of seeing & takes a

  Most experienced shot to make a decent schore.

  This afternoon we were all paraded at the

  Quarter Masters stores to be fit again with

  new clothing. This time we are given two

  pairs long trousers one tunic 2 pairs of

  boots one cap & one wool jersey so we

  seem to be getting plenty of clothing. The

  boots are the ordinary army pattern which

  are very comfortable & easy for marching in

  the Trousers & Tunic are made of Kahki

  twill & the jersey’s are very good ones

  made after the style of a Sweater & very

  thick grey wool. We have just received

  word that to night there is a party of

  entertainers called The Prize Packets are

  coming to the Regimental Theatre to give a

  concert. We are all looking forward to a
