  Tues Dec 22 1914

  A very wet day. Had to turn out at 7 o-clock

  kept standing in the rain for 1 hour until wet

  through, & then had to go in nowhere to dry

  our wet clothes. Had Phisical Drill until

  dinner. Had to stay in all afternoon & night

  too wet to go out. Every thing is just in a

  swamp, when it has rained for a few  hours

  it is up to your boot tops. It can’t get

  away as there is no drainage of any kind.

  had to prepare everything for a Route march

  on Wednesday have to turn out full

  marching order.

  To night had a whist contest between No. 1

  & 2 sections & after a very exciting time, we

  managed to win by 7 points we then had

  a light supper which terminated a very
