Very sacred by the Natives. I forgot

to state that the service to day was

taken by the Ven Archdeacon Carrey who

was born & is a Native of Carlisle.

to Day as of corse  India & Burma are

considered such cold country; we were

given a wool coat, a wool shirt. & a

extra pair of socks to keep us warm

what we are going to do with them we

don’t very well know.

--

Mon Dec 21 – 1914

A very wet day rained heavy all day, had

a lecture during the morning. Still no

news from England. Everything went wrong

to day. Got into trouble all round, quarreled

with everybody, went down into village

got wet through, had a good feed of

Ham & eggs in one of the Native Hotels

smoked two cigars, had a cab home

& went to bed quite satisfied with

myself.
