surprising how soon you are forgotten

when you once get away. Was asked

to day if any one would volunteer to

leave here at once & go straight to

the front, I don’t know what to

do must have time to consider.

went to bed Greatly Disappointed.

recieved our First Pay in India &

find that after being so very brave

& patriotic we were just ½ per

week worse off than when we

were in England besides being

starved here & forgotten by all at home

wish we had gone to the Front in the

beginning

Dec 19 1914

A very wet & stormy day & when it rains here

it doesn’t properly. Had a Lecture during the

morning. Another batch of Letters arrived but of

course none for me. Went into Maymyo
