The Day of the Inspection To Day we
were get out Bed at 4:30 Had Break
fast at 5:30 Had to fall in at 6:30 &
marched to the other side of Maymyo a
distance of about 3 Miles then Had to
stand until 10 o’ clock the time for
the arrival of the Govenor of Burma.
for all we were so sick of everything I
can’t help but say it was a beautifull
sight. The colours were simply splendid
there were present 4 Regiments of Native
Troops. 1 Regiment were Dressed in Long
Crimson Coats Trimmed with Gold braid
1 Regiment was Dressed in Kahki with
Black Belts & Caps. 1 Regiment of
Bengal Lanca in Blue & Crimson & 1
Regiment in Kahki Robes & Crimson
Turbans. The Natives who were
present as spectators were simply gorgeous
in colours & with the sun shining &
all Brass & steel work shining is really
