Looked magnificent. We then had to
March Back & Had Dinner about 1-o-clock
having been 7 ½ hours without Food or
drink under a Blazing sun.
Dec 16 1914
To Day for a change we started to
Work after cleaning everything we went
on Parade at 7-o-clock Had 1 hour
Drill Then came back to Breakfast of
Dry Bread & Tea went out & did
another 8 Hours Drill so we are not
hard worked when you think you have
about 40 lb on your back besides a
9 ½ lb Rifle in your Hands. Just heard
That the first batch of letters are to
be Delivered on Friday the 18th
everybody is very excited & counting hours
Many letters they are going to get I
expect about a Dozen.
