your long letter so full of news. I believe I told

you I got the two parcels safely. I am glad

Kenneth is doing so well. Hope Gertrude will

get good use out of your old bicycle. Rather

curious about that photo. It was taken 

on one of those route marches we had before

we left England. I could only remember

that one when you mentioned it but to

day Wilsonhurst showed me a proof of it

which Bassano had sent out here. It 

is very good indeed. It was taken the

morning when I was in command of the

battalion.

  Sorry Ma has been unwell again. I hope 

she is feeling better by now. Hope you

will have a good time when you

go. I suppose I ought to write there

in a few days - but it is rather 

awkward when letters take indefinite
