brother is near here & came over for tea to-day.
This was rather strange for he did the same
thing last year when the CO came out.
When we get settled into our place I expect
we shall get letters. Some were delivered
to-day but they were sent off for the date which
we should have moved away, but for the
fog. Those few calm days were very nice
Darling. I wonder what sort of a journey you
& Kenneth had & have you since settled
down. It was good & plucky of you to come
to the station & I think all the regiment
appreciated it. Our regular supply of
Daily Mails have not started yet but we
have seen a few & find most of the
news good. I see that you are going
to exist on few luxuries according to the
Premier's speech. Still I don't think it will
make very much difference to you & Kenneth
for you had very few luxuries on the
Plain. Well, Pet, all my thoughts come to you
May all happiness wait upon you & may
both of you keep real well & happy until
I come back to look after you. Hope you will
be able to read a real lot of love in
this. Kiss Kenneth for me & tell him to grow
up to be a good soldier. Please give
love to all "Longwith" (now somewhat scattered).
