  officer, but he could not give us pratique. He
  

  told us to go to Limassol as he could not give us
  

  pratique there. I was in the boat which went to
  

  Paphos. Nobody left the ship at Mullia - there
  

   were five people only on board. When we went to
  

  Rhodes we had six. We never had any petroleum
  

  other than that which I have spoke of. The sand
  

  certainly had no smell of petroleum. There were
  

  no marks on the deck, because we used to fill up
  

  our lamps carefully. When the weather is good

  We had only one gun when we left Kyrenia
  

  and 12 cartridges We never had more guns. When
  

  the French sailors came they found only one gun.
  

  We had been at Mullia some 6 or 7 days. We had
  

  it on the sacks of the soap; we put it on them
  

  because we had oiled it. We had oiled it with
  

  petroleum. We cleaned the gun with the rags and threw
