Coffin on a gun carriage then the Bugler &
then the firing Party followed by the
Brampton Company. The Service at the grave
side was taken by the Ven. Archdeacon Cory
the the firing party fire three volleys over
the grave after which the Buglers played
the last post. On the return journey the
band played. He like a Soldier Fell. &
the Vacant Chair. The rest of the day of
course was spent as quite as possible.
Thurs April 1 1915
To day we again had a holiday the usual
weekly holiday we did not get out of Bed
untill 7-30 & did nothing all day except lie
on our Beds reading & writing.
