a very sad business Altogether as some of

the Poor Fellows Wives and Mothers and

Sweethearts had been Perhaps been saving up

to send these Parcels for Weeks as you could

tell by the Notes in them and a Packet of cigs

sent by there children with some very sad

notes and by the time they arrived the

men were no more or Else in Blighty

anyway we did not have much time to think

as we were To busy loading our Belly

and Putting the rest by for a Rainy day

as those Stunts dont come off every Day

so at night we had a very royal time

as we had a Pay day here and agourned to

the nearest Estament and Partook of

Plenty Vin Blance and had a good time

and when we came out at 9 o clock we

had a rare time as I got up in the Village

square and made a recruiting speech the

same as I imagined they did in London at

this time and cause I had to make the usual

collection so I was collecting cigarettes for

money I should think I had about 500 men

and women round me including all our Men

and a Lot of Officers anyway I amused them

all according to the Laughter and it made

us forget what we had been through as I

was unconcious of it all I had completely

forgotten about it now. The following Day

2 other men and myself were ordered to the

colonel Orderly Room I thought allow

did I say anything Wrong in my fun

or was I boozy the night before I did

not no what to think anyway I hoped for
