Whilst a long way away from the Boche.

I don't think that I have any news

really. Things seem to be progressing

very nicely. We have even got the

railway up to our present home & I

saw a train (goods) today for the first

time for weeks. I haven't heard much

news of the Boche but we hear the

guns talking to him and also his

reply. Ta very much for your letter

of the 19th. It was good of them

to send greetings from Heworth.

Glad you managed to see Linda

Fancy Kenneth recognising me

in that group. I expect you

are now at Knaresboro. If so

give them all my love . Hope

they will managed to get some

more classes if you enjoy them

I see that Mr Balfour says the

war is going to be a long one

but hope your classes won't be
