  a washing day so I shall have some

  clean things to go on with. The sausages

  were very good + came in useful for

  breakfast when there was no issue of

  Bacon. With moving yesterday Hall + I

  lost our dinner but we fared very well

  on that most excellent Veal+ Ham. Pâte

  you send. The two cakes were A1 + the

  butter a great treat. The socks were

  just what I wanted. The kettle has

  already done good service while the

  Battery + the Bulb will I expect

  give me lots of light. The salt pot

  graces our table (though the salt

  you sent was all spilled) The note

  paper + envelopes just came in time - (This

  is a borrowed pad). All the other things

  were just as good + just as useful.

         Hall + I share a dug out, which
  

  is most comfy. We have two beds (wire)

  + have our valises + all fit + for

  two days the weather has been fine

  + warm during the day but chilly at

  night: what more could one

  desire on active service - Did you
