Landed on the beach about3 oC a.m. under rifle fire.
Went out at 5 a.m. on a scout.
Got to the firing line about 10 a.m.
terrible fighting going on in
the hills Gulf of Saros.
27 TUES.
Fighting still going
on fiercely. Lot of our fellows
have been killed and
wounded [in ink]also mutilated[/ink].
It's idol talk when a man says he worships a
woman
