after midnight, we dare not do otherwise

if we had, we should have had our

beds tipped over on to the floor but

we managed to get into bed about

2-0- clock in the morning.

Christmas morning we were up in

very good time although we went

to bed very late or rather early.

of course on Christmas day the men

are not supposed to do any thing on

that day & they are waited on by

the non commisioned officers.

about 8-o-clock we all sat down to

breakfast & I must say we had a

very good one i ever had Porridge

bacon & eggs jam & marmalade tea &

coffee & we all enjoyed it.

After Breakfast we had a very good

walk about six miles. Some people

might think we went for a walk

just to get a good appetite for our

dinners but they would be quite

wrong we did not.
