were dozens of plates mugs & bowls floating

away down the Stream & we had to dig even

inside the tents to let the water out. I as

usual was lucky enough to be on Guard &

long before I could be relieved I was

completely wet through to the skin.

Oct 23 1915

To Day we have reached the End of our

Quarantine & leave the camp to go into

Barracks once more, we also received the

grand news that all our things had to

be carried down to the Barracks which

is about a mile & a half away. For the

first load we all got our beds on our

backs & we looked a grand sight about

130 men all one after the other with a

bed on his back. After we had got

them all down we had to go back for

more & in all we made about 4 journeys

but the Biggest surprise of the lot

was when we opened our Kit bags
