5th verse

Now I'm down in Mandalay, where Kipling

Used to be

He must have been a gay old dog & more

Advanced than me

For I love the Burmese Ladies & like him I

Wish I could

Summon up sufficient courage to kiss her

Where she stood

And I wish Miss Supi-ya-lat would

Come up to me and speak

Put her arm upon my sholdier & her cheek

Against my cheek

Chorus

In Mandalay, In Mandalay

Where I lie & perspire all the day

A’watching the ladies smoke a whacking white cherote

And waste their Christian kisses on a heathen

Idols foot.

In Mandalay In Mandalay

Where The Flying Fishes play.

And I’m hoping for a Tutio soon & then can sling my bat

I’ve learnt Burmese for Darling & you saucy little cot

But I cannot understand her when she say Oh

Don’t do that
