2nd Verse
We next entrained for Sittingbourne
most salubrious town
The smells that hit you everywhere, would
knock a Regiment down.
The Marched us all in morning & they
marched us all the night
And when the didn’t march us – well they
taught us how to fight
So when we’d worn the Roads a bit, adjourneying (around Kent)
Oh guess what part of France my Regiment
was sent
Chorus
To Maymyo, On the “Descado”
Through the Bay of Biscay O
Lying on your tummy in the bottom of your berth
Feeling all the time just like nothing upon earth
“Descado” “Descado”
Oh Ah Oh Ah Oh
Overboard my dinner went, my tea it went as well as
I asked my pals to tell Mamm I like a fell soldier
And after nearly dying, it really was some sell
To be in Maymyo, in Mamie Ami O
