Breakfast we spent the rest of the day

unpacking our packs & kit bags then we

had a bathe. I don’t think I enjoyed anything

as much in my life although it is impossible

to get cold water here. The only water

which is cool or anything fit to drink is

what is brought by the native water carriers

& kept in one of the native Bowls called

a Chattie. About 6 o-clock we all had

to go to the stores & have our beds

issued out to us after that we are not

long before we were all in Bed thourly

tired out.

Sunday April 19 1915

To day the only parade was a church parade

at 9 o-clock. It was a rare treat to day

as we had the pleasure of having Service

in a church for the first time since leaving

England. The Garrison church here is a

very nice one we had a very good

service & had the pleasure of singing some
