Ever they got there as there are some which

weigh hundreds of tons.  The view here was

simply magnificent. It is quite possible to see

for miles for here you get a clear view of

the great plain on which Mandalay stands

& without doubt it is a great plane.

we again managed to reach our destination

at a place called Tombaugh about 11-a.m.

we are now getting to the hot climate & the heat

here is 105 in the shade, here we had to take off

our shirts to dry as they were simply wet through

with sweat. This place is a small town or rather

a large village dealing mostly with cocoanuts &

cocoanut oil. The palm trees are bored in varios

place & a native jar is fastened over the boring

& allowed to stay there until fell which

gradually drips out of the palm. We were now

told to get some sleep if possible as we

were to start away at 2.-a.m. for the last

14 miles as our journey but it was impossible

to sleep as it is far too hot all we could

do was simply to lie under the trees &

sweat.
