Thurs April 16 1915

 

To day we commended the second stage

of our journey to Mandaly we had

breakfast at 6-o-clock & packed up & were

ready to start away by 7-o-clock. I may

say that to day I have seen some of the

most magnificent scenery & one of the finest

roads I have ever seen in my life, on this

journey in the 10 miles we dropped down

more than 1,000 feet. The Road is cut in the

mountain side for looking up one

can see the Road Zig Zaging up above. On

the other side of the road there is a drop

straight down of over a thousand feet

& it seems possible to see for miles.

well we had this Kind a road for all

the ten miles & it seems to continue for

to morrow’s journey. At last we reached

the end of the second day’s journey at

a place called Kaumgbow where we
