choaked During the afternoon it was plain
to see that we were in for a storm so we
gathered Bamboo’s & tried to make Tents out of
the Bamboo’s & our Blnakets but by 7-30
it started & did not forget to start. It lightened
& Thundered you would think the Heavens had
gone MAD. The Tent we had made was of no
use at all it was drenched through in a few
minutes but we did not do bad after all as
Isaac Gill, Tommy Ryan & myself made a run
for some native Buildings which although we
were not supposed to enter these places we did
do & at last found ourselves in a cow shed
where we slept on some straw untill morning
we were perfectly dry whilst the other fellows
were drenched to the skin. This is the first
time in my experience that I have over heard
the Revielle cheered or that I have ever
slept in a cow shed.
