Get from a wagon Meat Potatoes Cabbage

& water from his water Bottle.  We then made

fires & Boiled the water & put in the Meat we

pealed the potatoes & cut up  the cabbage this we

put into the boiling water. Each Man of course cooking

his own in his Billy can we then said Boil

Yer Devil, Boil”  We let it boil until we

thought it enough then we sat down on the

ground & eat it & It was not half bad

for a first attempt after this we again

marched back to Camp not sorry that Friday

was over & each looking forward to Sunday

when we would again start for Maymyo.

 

Sat Mar 20 1915

 

To day we were not to have a very hard

day as were have to be ready to move away

the First Thing on Sunday morning. We had

about 4 hours of the usual drill & then

had the rest of the day to ourselves

until 5-o-clock when we had to strike all

tents & pack them ready for Sunday morning.
