grandest day I have ever experienced. The
weather is not to hot and a gentle breeze
blowing. Anyone would think that it was the
middle of August instead of the middle of
January.
Tues Jan 19 1915
To day has been rather quite except for
getting ready for another ceremonial
parade for the Benefit of the govener
of India & Leuit. General Commander of
all the Forces in India. I think that seems
to be all we have been sent out here for
simply to be Body Guards & present Guards
of Honour to those who love the Pomp
& Vanity of India.

To day we have had a most unusual
job we started this morning & had about
3 hours trench digging. We had had only
