Out on a Sunday whilst the
soldiers were at church. After church
we had Dinner & a very good Dinner
the Best since we left Carlisle, at the
meals to day the waiting was all
reversed the Officers waiting on the men
during the Dinner, the Commanding Officer (Col.
Waterlow) visited us & wished us
the complement of the season. There
was speechmaking & Toasts drunk &
we had a very good time. After
Dinner we had a good rest & we
needed it after our Dinner & preparing
for tea, Then we had Tea a good Tea
& then another rest until Time for
the Smoking concert. The Concert began
about 7-o-clock. There was a very good
programme the officers singing songs
as well as the men, we were provided
with Beer, minerals, cigars, cigarettes
Fruit meets & sandwiches. There were
some very good singing also one or
two good solos on Instruments. During
