here we were welcomed to Burma by
some of the Big men of Rangoon & each
man was presented with 1 cigar 1 box of
matches & a Rose. I think the best of all
the journey was when they brought in the
bowls full of Roses they were the finest
I think I have ever seen & The smell was
lovly. Then we went back on the Boat &
for Dinner we had Dry Bread & Tea & for
Tea we had Bread & Gravy. That might we
again slept on the floor.
Dec 11th 1914
left Rangoon 8 – o by train for Maymyo
we had all our meals in the train & they
were the best & best arranged since we
left Southampton we had Breakfast on
the boat, but Dinner in the train & for all
It is difficult to get ready in a train we
had a first class Feed.
