over all the Bodys and I Eventually got

out through a Long Trench and got up

on top when we were a good way from the

German Line we kept Marching for about

on Hour about 15 of us there was And

we thought we were the only ones left of

our Regt of about 950 men when we first

went up here to go over the top anyway when

was a broken down Brewery in a Place

or Village called Quinchy we found another

30 of our Men and they  were very much

suprised to see us alive and the Generals

Servants came out and served us with

tea before we went for another March

back to another Village were we were

to get refitted and have a roll call

to see how many was Missing and the

General came out and asked us what sort

of time we had had and sent out some

nice bread and butter and I did not

care whether I had any tea or food or not

I was Properly run down but I had never been

made such a fuss of in all my Experience in

France fancy the General sending us food

Sleep and and we started back to  ..the.  Village

about 4 miles March where we arrived about
