often noticed when a man got killed as
if he was much happier where he had gone
the other Two were still alive so one
I cut his Putters off and found he had
some very bad leg wounds and the other
had a Piece out of his Shoulder and
they happened to be Three sworn Pals
all joined up together and as Fate
would have it they were all killed
together as the other Two died very
Shortly after getting to Hospital as
Lock Jaw set in with Both of them
but what struck me most was when the
Doctor was dressing their Wounds they
were asking me if their chum was all
right I said yes hes allright he is
Sleeping anyway they were in Terribly Pain
and the Doctor gave them an Ingection
before they went to Hospital as I stated
they Both DIed so I was the only one
saved and of 4 of us sitting outside the
Billet their was all the Letter which
they had just read before the shell
burst and the Parcels cake and sardines
which we were just going to Enjoy all
gone west with them Poor Fellows I
had to get the Dead Body outside and
the room where I had dragged them
was just like a Slaughter house where
they had Bled so I washed it all down
with several Pails of water and the
Poor People who Lived in the House were
so Panic Stricken that they were all
Lying under Sofas Beds and anywhere
