anyway we were glad to get away from here
if only to get away from the Bats as when
you woke up in the night you could feel
there cold Feet walking over your face
so we went on another 25 Kilo March
to a Place called La Bouviere and
it was getting very near the line

we were Lucky enough to be billeted
here about 2 Weeks attached to a
Farm in the Barn where we could
win a lot of Eggs as the Fowls used
to lay there egg on our beds of
Straw and we very often came back
at Dinner time and Found a few
do that helped to digest our bully
and biscuits from here our Brigade
started moving up the line one
Batalion every 3 or 4 Days it soon
came to our turn and we marched
another 20 kilos to the line by
way of Bethune up to a Part of the
line called Richburg Le Vue just to
the Right of Neuve Chappel and we were
put in some Barns here we were now
within Bullet Range as when we got
in our Barns the snipers Bullets
from the Line whizzed Past our Ears
it was getting very uncomfortably close
