Sorry he bumped but glad he bears
up like a soldiers son. No there
doesn't seem to be much news in
the papers but of course it is bound
to be quiet in the line after a push
for there are a thousand and one things
to do. Roads to make - thousands of
tons of stones &c. to move to say nothing
of practically every man behind that
piece of line moving to a new position.
I am not having too bad a time
Darling but for the fact that I am
a long way from home + don't get
a chance of being with you. We
take good care of ourselves Lassie.
You see it is part of ones duty as
a soldier to do that - only it would
sometimes appear that one gets more
credit for a wound than for being
careful + continuing efficient. Yes I
was talking to Bryant & I wrote a
short note to Dr. Workman so that he
would know some particulars for the
"Bulletin" didn't expect he would pass
