  My Own Darling Wife,

    Many thanks for the parcel
  

  which arrived this afternoon. All the

  contents will be very useful. Tell

  Kenneth Daddy sends him a big kiss

  for his share in the parcel. I received

  a parcel by the same post from 

  Fortman & Mason - don't know from 

  whom it comes but I expect it

  is probably from Wendel or Johnson. Did

  I tell you how the latter had got to

  England. It is somewhat of a change

  being here. Just before we came I

  used to go to bed at 4:30 am without

  taking off my clothes + now I get up

  at 6 am + have to get properly dressed.

  It seems very early in the morning +

  makes the days long. Still its all

  in the days work + I am going to

  give the first parade a miss

  except for one morning a week

  in future. The weather is still grand
