  My Own Darling,

    Am just going to have tea with
  

  Porter so must write a note here else I cannot

  catch the post. We had a Brigade church Parade 

  this morning. It was quite a change to see a

  lot of men instead of a few in a trench. Last

  night we were arranging Brigade Sports and 

  I look like having a fair amount of work to do

  this next week for I am to supervise the getting

  up of the sports in addition to the ordinary work.

  It has been a lovely warm sunny day & I enjoyed

  riding to parade this morning & over here this afternoon.

  It is Sunday but I had a pay parade as well.

  There isn't much difference between any of the

  days of the week now. Ta for your letter I

  received yesterday - must answer it later. I

  got one from Lucy this morning - quite a

  cheerful epistle. There doesn't seem to be

  any war at all. We are almost "far from

  the war" & training again just as if we

  were in England. I have a good billet only

  there is no Marion to greet me when I

  come off parade & no Kenneth to play with in
