My Own Darling Wife,

Just a line to say I am

fit & well & enjoying the change though

the training is harder physical work than

holding the line. Still there is an absence

of strain which is a relief. I

have to pay the men tonight &

have a talk on tomorrow's work

so shall have had a dull day

when I get through. Fortunately

it is fine weather again & I hope it

will keep so. It seems ages & ages

since I was with you & I don't like

being away at all. What a lot we shall

have to do for each other to make up

for the long gap. All my thoughts

come to you & I wish I were following

them in reality. Still I ought not

missing for I have been very

missing it is good to look forward

missing we shall have
