luck on Sgt. Jackson. He was taking Mendel
away on a stretcher after he had been wounded
& lost direction on the way back. They got
to a village thinking it was where our
Aid Post was but had gone too far south.
The Bearers put the stretcher down & went
into a shed with Jackson to find shelter
for Mendel. A shell came killed
Jackson wounded the two bearers &
left Mendel with only his guide.
Fortunately they all got back safely.
I like Kenneth's letter very much &
hope he will write again soon.
There doesn't seem much news in this
letter Darling, but the thing I really
want it to contain is the fact that
I love you very very dearly. It will be
just lovely to get back to England to
live with you. - To be your boy again
in reality - to kiss you & fold you
in my arms so that you can
feel that I love you. My thoughts
