  My Own Darling Wife.

  We have just been inspected by

  our new Divisional General and I think

  we shall get a good report, for the men

  turned out very well & he said that he

  was pleased with them . We have had a

  couple of cleaning parades & you can

  imagine what a lot of cleaning things

  took for they have not had a chance of

  really getting the mud off since we

  left our last rest camp. The weather

  continues to the good to us, blue sky &

  sunshine is putting new life into

  us all and when we go into the

  line again on Saturday we shall have

  had a real good rest. Let me see I did

  thank you for the parcel containing

  Lill's excellent cake - the oat cakes

  potted meat tongue &c. didn't I? The

  contents have been most acceptable

  & help us to "do ourselves well"

Let me see I did thank you for the parcel containing jello excelent cake. The oat cakes tasted meat tounge, didn't I?
