Still it is hardly a health resort
and I should like to get a little farther
back again to get a chance of
reorganizing. Also my present clothes
have been in continuous use quite
long enough & although my feet are
in excellent form it would be a
pleasant change to sleep without
boots on. A curious thing happened
last night. A shell burst near
us - blew some rubbish &c. into our
cellar chimney ? and along with it a
live sparrow, which flew round
& round until I caught it & put
it outside again. All the officers
are keeping fit. Walker has not joined
us yet - must be having a long rest.
I was sorry that Bert Bryant was
killed in a show the other night. He
was not with us of course but I heard
that he was doing very well indeed.
We got a newspaper of the 10th last night
