line, of course that does not mean

lack of work for we have working &

carrying parties every day & most nights.

  The men are still doing very well

indeed and are making first class

soldiers. They are very amusing in

some ways but they make one proud

to be with them. They don't care a

little bit for the Boche & even those

who were nervous in England have

got the new point of view & will

probably be nervous when the show

is over. They vary of course, some look

upon the war as the best fun they

have ever struck, some look upon it

as a duty that is now really too bad

& others seem to think it is a nuisance

that they must put up with. Many

of them have wonderful imaginations

& describe how they stood in mud

up to their waists when actually it
