My Own Darling Wife,
Many thanks for the parcel
which I received safely last night. The
last two mails have been great for parcels
and we have done ourselves very well
indeed. We expected to go to rest
Billets but the Boche seems to require
us in attendance and so we shall get
our rest later. I am afraid my letters
will arrive in batches for I hear there
is difficulty in getting them away from
here. When we get to Berlin it will
be different but in these resting places
en route communications are not so
good. We have had a lovely spring
day to-day & I enjoyed a walk or
two on top. When we were in the
line that was impossible so we
enjoy it the more now. My men
who were off duty have been
basking in the sun & should feel
much better for it. Certainly they
