the poor chap has gone.

What about Captain Firse, was

he in the Batt. Fancy meeting

Captain Ambrose in the back.

It was strange but very nice for 

you both to meet again.

Will just get tea & then out

to get the razor, tooth brush,

etc. Poor old chap, are you 

growing a beard? One good thing

your hair will grow a decent

length for a bit. What part of

your head was hit & do

you have it plastered or swashed

I should love to have a peep

at you. Reading, resting, sleeping

Feeding what a nice easy time

Durham House Hospital has had

another wing for 30 cot cases

and now accommodates 120 beds.

Elsie has told you in her letter

about Cooper & Lockwood, both

home wounded, (hope you get

the letter through.) I think it 

was Cooper wounded in the ankle.

Our garden looks very nice at

present. Lilac white & purple

in full bloom also laburnum

& the lily of the valley is a

treat to look at so full of

large blooms. Vegetables coming

up will need thinning out, but
