Dear George,

  We were delighted to know

you really were in dear old England

once more. But what a pity you

are so far from us, a days

journey & a big fare, still we

must see how you go on, and

how you are after the shrapnel

has been removed. We have

had 3 letters from across &

the P.C from Drew. There is

quite a batch of letters awaiting

you in France. For we posted all

once & else registered 7/8 to

you, that of course will be returned

to us but should think all the

other letters (if not the pcl  parcel ) would

the Dr. told him he must consider

he has time his hit, so it looks as

if he will get his discharge.

Mrs. Bench says "tell George not to get

well too quickly." Dad went down

to tell Carrington - he says he hopes

you got his letter through, but I don't

think you could as it only left here

the morning you went to battle -

I am sending on 10/- and will

get a pcl off this evening. Elsie

has not heard from Jack yet. She

has gone to Longford for the weekend

& Dad & I propose to go on Monday

Mom for the day. We are taking

Uncle Charlie & Auntie Ann down, wish

you could join us. It's a lovely

day here; hot but a nice breeze. So

if you got up after the Dr. visit, you
