Dear George -
Letter 31 of May 11th
has reached us safely. Glad to
find you are alright & still out
of the line - also that at last
you have had a good wash in a
"six foot basin of nice clean water"
What a treat for you - I expect
you have been having the weather
a bit cooler this week, we have
had fires again & yesterday &
Friday very heavy rain, but it
has freshened everything up &
things will grow rapidly - The
ground was really parched no
rain having fallen for about a
month - I have sent Dad up
by Harringay to look at the
left side, page 4 of letter
his 22nd Birthday on the 26th so you
might drop him a line if possible. We
are sending him a pcl, to make merry
with his chums.
Wes writes that he is
not quite so well, thinks perhaps the
weather is trying him, but still
having a great and happy time.
Elsie has a not heard from Jack yet
so suppose he did not reach Gibraltar
We do not know for certain the
name of boat, Auntie Annie said
the ascetic in her letter so Mr Dabbs
being at Lloyds will try & find out
Now that volunteers up to 50 are
asked for Mr Dabbs will have his
chance, but am thinking he will not
be keen on it - He seems to be doing
well at Lloyds and is appointed
Lecturer to the Lelbourne Society -
Was lecturing yesterday to some
