the V.A.D. hospital, and the whole countryside seem

to vie with one another to give the Tommies a good time

so good that he does not appear to hanker after a sick

furlough to come home just yet. We are glad indeed

that his lines have fallen in such pleasant places! and

hope it means for him a complete restoration to perfect health

Stan still at the signalling school, and in turn says

he expects he will be send home with train fever, being stuffed

so full of electrical information. He has going as a rifleman

there, and will be turned out a trained Electrical Engineer"

Knowledge however is never lost, and an extra string to

the bow is good in the long run."

Did you note the bit in the "Star" I marked! What a shame

if the W.D do issue an order that "no cake is to be sent

to the forces. Why such a thing should be mooted passes

any comprehension, in these days its one of the joys of 

sacrifice to send, and to stop such would mean no 

save, but simply the home consumption instead at 

least that's how I look at it! Already there is plenty of
