or a shave & we did look a lot

of bearded ruffians. No thanks

I only take necessary risks but

of course shells & such like

have a nasty habit of dropping

once now & again into really

safe places. Poor Cooke was

killed a few days ago. We were

all very sorry for he was such

a good fellow & had done splendidly

out here.

  Fancy Kenneth wandering all

over York like that. Why he'll be

able to start leaving to play

rugger when I get back again.

Glad you got on so well with

the Dr. who was it - 'cause I might

be jealous. Don't see how you

could fail.

I wonder if you are going

back to Heslington to-day. Poor

old Kenneth - did the big bed

frighten him. He rather had you
