My Own Darling Marion,
We are enjoying another
lovely hot sunny day and as
I have not had much work
to do I have been in the open
air most of the day. I meant to
have written to you this afternoon
but got talking with Knox
+ Hall + tea time came before
I expected it. I had arranged
to go out after tea to do a
little reconnoitering with my
two subs so I am afraid you
will only get a short note
again. I am still very fit
+ well - getting tanned by the
sun. This is much better
than living in the bowels
of the earth.
I hear that food parcels
are to be stopped but don't know
