My Own Darling Wife
We have certainly got away
from England now and nearer to the war. We
are in a village which has all been
knocked to pieces but I had a very
comfortable night's rest. There was a fall
of snow the night before and we seem to have,
over here, colder weather than you are
getting . We expect to move to our
place in the line to-night but we
are still waiting instructions and
getting used to the War atmosphere and other
unusual conditions, I received your
letter this morning and was
glad to find that you had such
a comfortable journey to the north,
and, that you and Kenneth were well
cared for by Gertrude at Kings X. King's Cross
Kenneth did well to sleep + you were
lucky to catch that early train. I
am pleased that the wee Laddie has
