  long ago as the 7th Feb. I have not

  had a letter yet but there may be

  some for me to-night. I wonder

  whether you have received any from

  me yet. I have found a bed in the

  village + it will be more comfy than

  the hut + not very far from the men

  I think it is a sound plan to be as

  comfortable as one can, for a little

  farther on all the houses have been

  knocked about so much that everyone

  must sleep in dug outs. None of

  our officers show signs of having had

  enough yet but then we have not

  had as bad a time as last year yet

  we get most of our news via Englad

  so it is fairly old by the time we are

  able to read it. Our horses stood the 

  journey worst but it did not seem to

  affect Sally at all. I saw her this morning

  & she sort of snorted at me as much as to 

  say this is not "arf bad." Half bad.  Well, Darling

  all my thoughts come to you. Kiss Kenneth
